New World China Land Holds Annual Employee Awards Ceremony

(29 January 2015, Shanghai) New World China Land Limited ("New World China Land"; Stock code: 917.HK) held its annual employee awards ceremony at New World Shanghai Hotel on 29 January, to commend more than 50 staff, including outstanding volunteers, outstanding employees and “LEAPING” work improvement groups. 

Based on a comprehensive assessment with multi-dimensional judging criteria, including community service hours, service quality and level of participation in 2014, a total of 10 staff volunteers from Shenyang, Anshan, Beijing, Jinan, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Zhaoqing were nominated and awarded the honorary title of "2014 Outstanding Volunteer". Ms Lynda Ngan, Executive Director, and Mr Marco Lam, Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communication, presented the certificates and awards to the awardees, expressing the recognition for their voluntary works and social actions. 

Four categories of awards were presented at the awards ceremony, including Outstanding Volunteer Award, Outstanding Employee Award, Employees’ Children Scholarship and Outstanding “LEAPING” Work Improvement Group Award. New World China Land hopes to encourage staff to be proactive and maintain the vitality of the company by presenting awards to staff with outstanding contributions in voluntary service, business operation, community service and intrapreneurship in 2014. In addition, in order to encourage employees' children to strive for improvement and extend company's care to the families of employees, the Group launched a scholarship scheme for employees' children since 2013, and this is the second consecutive year for New World China Land to grant this scholarship.

On the same day of the awards ceremony, the awardees of the Outstanding Volunteer Award joined hands with a charitable organization and presented the "1kg box" class to 15 students of Shanghai Luwan No. 3 Primary School. The volunteers delivered a lively class to all the students through different themes, interesting visualised teaching guides and tools. Moreover, the awardees of the Outstanding Volunteer Awards from Beijing were invited to participate in the environmental-friendly DIY activities and teach the children to recycle the used shuttlecock and make colourful wind chimes, expressing warm wishes of the new year. 

New World China Land cares about the underprivileged in community and it established New World Volunteer Team, the first developer’s corporate volunteer team in Mainland China, early in 2008. By the end of 2014, New World Volunteer Teams has been set up in 17 cities including Shenyang, Anshan, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Haikou, Zhaoqing, Shunde, Foshan, Huizhou and Ningbo. There are over 1,283 volunteers, with 144 volunteer services organised, reaching 7,063 service hour in 2014.
