New World China Land Receives Two Top Honours of the “2015 Golden Brick Award for Real Estate of China”

(20, July 2015, Sanya) New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”, Stock Code: 917) has won the “China Real Estate Corporate Citizenship Award” and “Green Real Estate Award” under the 2015 Golden Brick Award for Real Estate of China at the 15th Annual Conference of Boao 21st Century Real Estate Forum held in Sanya, organised by the 21st Century Business Herald. 

With “Innovation under the unbalanced environment” as the theme of the Boao Forum this year,  the appraisal basis is objective and comprehensive. Experts from academic, finance and professional institutions are selected to form the judging panel. The result was announced at the Boao 21st Century Real Estate Forum. 

The judging panels commended that NWCL has long adhered to the sustainability management strategies and guidelines to improve the environment and quality of life, boosting the environmentally-friendly and healthy lifestyle. NWCL has actively adopted numerous green building measures, including improvements on the energy efficiency of newly-built projects, water resources conservation and materials application, and has formulated standards of NWCL green buildings to facilitate the projects to achieve sustainability goals. Currently, nine projects in the Mainland China have attained LEED Gold certification or pre-certification issued by the US Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. In December 2014, NWCL released the first sustainability report and this was also the first one which was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines in the Mainland China. 

NWCL also pays continuous attention to corporate social responsibility, devotes to shaping a sustainable community and focusing on the spiritual and cultural life of the community and vulnerable groups. NWCL introduces the artistic and cultural events and collaborates with international charitable organisations in carrying out social projects such as building farmhouses in poverty-hit areas. In 2013 to 2014, NWCL cooperated with the international charitable organisation, the Habitat for Humanity China, to run the farmhouse rebuild programme in poverty-hit areas in Sichuan and Guangdong Provinces. NWCL also held the intangible cultural heritage event to promote the protection and inheritance of traditional culture. The community public library “Happy Island Library” has been launched since 2010 and has become the reading and culture hubs for local residents. In 2015, NWCL helped 108 peasant households in Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve, Gansu Province, for a new energy conservation project with Shan Shui Conservation Center. NWCL is the first property developer in Mainland China to establish a corporate volunteer team, with more than 900 volunteers distributed in 12 cities throughout the country. 

The Golden Brick Award of China Real Estate has been held for 15 consecutive years since 2001, aiming at promoting the development of China real estate and showcasing the outstanding achievements in the real estate industry. Hosted by the 21st Century Business Herald which is owned by the Nanfang Daily in 2001 and co-hosted by China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, the Boao 21st Century Real Estate Forum is now the most authoritative and influential real estate forum in China.
