New World China Land Awarded “Best Practice Award for 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking in China”

(18 December, 2015 – Hong Kong) New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”; Hong Kong Stock Code: 00917) has won the “Best Practice Award for 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking in China” and has been included in the “Top List of Hong Kong Enterprises for Real Estate Value Ranking in China” organised by China Business News (“CBN”) in Shanghai today. The Beijing New World•Li Zun, located in Shunyi District, has also won “The Best Investment Value Residence Award” by the Organising Committee. 

Environmental protection is of utmost concern to NWCL. Apart from facilitating the application and innovation in green building design with unwavering effort, NWCL formulates NWCL Green Building Design Guidelines, emphasising the feasibility, cost effectiveness and the overall sustainability performance of its projects. Furthermore, NWCL promotes green and high-quality lifestyle to its staff and residents while creating green communities and minimizing its projects’ negative impacts on the environment. NWCL supports education, recreation, culture and art activities through diversified events and measures. For two consecutive years, NWCL has cooperated with an international charity organisation, Habitat for Humanity to support the rebuilding of farmhouses in poverty areas in Sichuan Province and Guangdong Province, and joined hands with Shanshui Conservation Center to aid the construction of energy saving facilities in Gansu Baishuijiang Natural Reserve. NWCL Volunteer Team, which is the first volunteer organisation in Mainland China, has over 900 volunteers and has provided communities with more than 8,667 hours of voluntary services. NWCL also publishes sustainability report every year to share and encourage the implementation of sustainability measures.                  

Beijing New World•Li Zun marks another masterpiece in Shunyi Central Villa Zone subsequent to the launch of Beijing Chateau Regalia by NWCL. A rare low-density residences in Beijing, the project, which consists of 308 French-style villas, upholds the architectural concept of “human and nature co-existence”. All residences are installed with Oswin Air Purification System from Germany, which can purify up to 94.5% of PM2.5 while also utilising eight world-class home technology systems. Coupled with the 2,000-sq.m. clubhouse and the 5,000 sq.m. French-style retail street, the project sets new benchmark for villa development in Mainland China for years to come. 

“CBN•Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking in China”, themed with “Responsible Enterprises•Genes & Paths” in 2015, aims to explore the responsibility of corporations while presenting outstanding corporations in engaging in social responsibility practice. The “Best Practice Award”, one of the accolades, recognises corporations which plays a pioneering role in carrying out social responsibility. The Judging Committee praised NWCL for incorporating sustainability into its guidelines on operation and construction, introducing the idea of sustainability when building communities, and extending long-term support to charity, education, sports as well as culture and art activities. 

Having been launched since 2008, the “CBN•Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking in China” enters its 7th year in 2015. Leveraging CBN’s professionalism, authority and strong influence in the media sector, the Awards aim to disseminate the idea of corporate social responsibility, and to present success stories and innovation in the area.
