(26 January 2016, Shanghai) New World China Land Limited (“NWCL”; Stock Code: 00917) presented awards to NWCL volunteers who had remarkable performance in volunteer service during 2015 in a ceremony held in Shanghai on 25 January. A total of nine staff volunteers from Northeastern China district, Northern China district, Southern China district, Shanghai, Wuhan and Changsha received the awards from Hong Kong headquarters at Shanghai K11, and shared their experience in volunteer service. 

The award-winning NWCL volunteers had outstanding performance in terms of community service hours, service quality and level of participation. Mr Marco Lam, Deputy General Manager – Corporate Communication of NWCL presented the certificates and prizes to the awardees, showing recognition to their distinguished achievements in engaging in corporate social responsibility activities, showing love and concern to society and facilitating the district’s participation in volunteering and charitable activities while encouraging more staff members to participate in community activities. 

New World Group has recently introduced a premium brand infused with unique personality, “The Artisanal Movement”, encouraging all staff members to put their creativity and imagination to work. NWCL organised a volunteer tour to the Media-Deli Exhibition held in Shanghai K11, with an aim to encourage the participating volunteers to get inspiration from the artisan spirit and to hear the voice of the underprivileged in communities when planning for the bespoke volunteer services. 

With sustainability being one of the business strategies, NWCL has been dedicated to making contribution to the sustainable development of the communities in which it operates while striving for balance between economy and environmental protection. Apart from setting up the first developer’s volunteer team in Mainland China in 2008, NWCL makes donation and provides sponsorship to charity organisations. As at end of 2015, NWCL successively set up volunteer teams in 18 cities including Shenyang, Anshan, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Langfang, Tangshan, Shanghai, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, Shunde, Foshan, Huizhou, Ningbo, Chengdu and Guiyang, with 1,248 voluntary team members. NWCL also organised 151 volunteer events, with 6,450 hours of volunteer services recorded.
